Black Power
“Build” verse
Commissioned by Change the Narrative project in Pine Bluff, AR
No more masonic tricks
Stacking our new bricks
Re-writing history so that the story reads this,
“Extray! Extray! Read all about it,
Changing the Narrative is stopping the violence
Pine Bluff voices are no longer silent
Whole city taking flight, everybody a pilot
Before we soar let’s start at the ground floor
Generational foundations are being restored
Brick and mortar galore; Build Black owned stores
Mom-and-pop spots always give a lil more
Boys will be bored until exposed to more
Girls wouldn’t be whores if they had mentors
Plant seeds at the core so the roots remain stable
From those trees we build our own seats and tables
